What is Linear Heat Detection?
Linear Heat Detection (LHD) is a line-type form of fixed temperature heat detection used in common commercial and industrial environments. This linear cable can detect a fire anywhere along its entire length and is available in multiple temperatures.

New Addressable ThermoCable.
Traditionally, linear heat detection systems required special proprietary panels.  ThermoCable is the first addressable linear heat detection cable to be approved for use with any of today's modern addressable panels. Addressable systems greatly reduce installation costs while adding flexibility for future system expansion.  Simply add another module to upgrade and expand your system rather than purchasing another panel.

Why ThermoCable?
ThermoCable offers unique new benefits in addition to be being addressable.  Now up to 10,000 ft. can be placed on any zone, new 35 foot spacing means greater sensitivity, can be used on any panel, offers both lower product and installation costs, and can be used to upgrade any existing conventional panel.

• Addressable

• Up to 10,000 ft./zone

• Greater Sensitivity

• Use with Any Panel

• Lower Cost

• Upgrade Existing Systems

How does it work?
ThermoCable is a twisted pair of extremely low resistance (.05 ohm/ft. of twisted cable) tri-metallic conductors held apart by heat-sensitive insulation and surrounded by an outer PVC protective jacket.  The heat sensitive insulation is engineered to break down at specific fixed temperatures allowing the twisted conductors to make contact and initiate an alarm.

After a fire has been detected, the small section of cable that was activated can be easily removed and replaced with simple splicing techniques quickly restoring the system back into service.  Replacing the entire length of cable is not required.

Detect anywhere along the entire length of the cable.

What types of linear heat detection systems are there?

Addressable
Addressable systems decreases installation time by running multiple ones on a single loop.  This type of system easily permits numerous smaller zones rather than larger individually wired zones.  These types of systems are beneficial when distance locating is not required.  Systems are available in both Class "A" and Class "B" configurations.
